BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sirinian, a native Californian, specializes in diagnosing and treating adult diseases. After earning an undergraduate degree in Psychology, she worked as a paralegal several years in Beverly Hills where she learned to quickly organize large volumes of material with attention to detail. The psychology background improved her ability to relate to, and listen to patients, as well as understand motivations behind human behavior.

She would leave her paralegal work looking forward to volunteering at an inner city hospital serving trauma victims in Los Angeles. She found her passion in medicine, obtained a second degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry, and began her pre-medical career.

During this time she spent a year at Stanford where she earned a scholarship, obtained a master's degree and published research in urology and gastroenterology. She also performed studies on computer-mediated communication, and orally presented her innovative work to leaders in the industry including IBM. As a pre-med student, she was honored to be invited to speak to urologists at the American Urological Association’s annual meeting to present the results of her study. However, it was the early psychology interest in analysis and relating to people, and her attention to detail that led to her attraction to the detective work in the specialty of internal medicine.

Dr. Sirinian came to Chicago for medical school. During her training as an internal medicine resident, she was awarded chief medicine resident where she shaped Swedish Covenant’s Hospital internal medicine residency program. She has become specialized in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of disorders, including complex and rare pulmonary and infectious diseases, cardiovascular problems including heart attacks and failure, diabetes and endocrine disorders, cancer, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and joint disorders, gastrointestinal and dermatologic conditions. She can treat back pain with osteopathic manipulative medicine. She also commonly deals with obesity, preventive medicine, dialysis and kidney disorders, and a wide range of neurological diseases such as cerebrovascular infarctions, and peripheral neuropathies with office EMGs. Each consultation and treatment plan is customized to the unique needs of her patients.
